Situated along the southern banks of the mighty River Nile in the Murchison Falls Conservation Area, Baker’s Lodge is an intimate luxury safari lodge offering a peaceful riverside retreat surrounded by Uganda’s spectacular wilderness. Named after the famous 19th-century explorer Sir Samuel White Baker, the lodge sits on a private stretch of the Nile with beautiful views of the river, wetlands, and surrounding savannah. Guests can enjoy frequent sightings of wildlife from the lodge itself, including hippos, elephants, crocodiles, and a variety of water birds, making it one of the most scenic and exclusive places to stay while exploring Murchison Falls National Park.
By road, Baker’s Lodge can be reached from Kampala or Entebbe via Masindi, entering Murchison Falls National Park through the southern sector. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours from Kampala (depending on road conditions and stops), followed by a scenic drive through Budongo Forest and the park landscape towards the Nile River. For travelers arriving by air, scheduled and charter flights operate from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi Airfield to nearby airstrips such as Bugungu Airstrip (the closest option) or Pakuba Airstrip, followed by a safari transfer to the lodge.
Baker’s Lodge features only 10 spacious safari suites, each raised on wooden platforms with private decks overlooking the Nile, ensuring privacy, comfort, and uninterrupted views of the surrounding wilderness.
