Sipi Falls Safari Itinerary
Day 1 - Kampala to Jinja & Source of the Nile
Depart early from Kampala, driving east through the lush Mabira Forest. Arrive in Jinja just in time for lunch by the water. In the afternoon, take a scenic boat cruise on Lake Victoria to the exact geographic Source of the Nile, visiting the John Speke Monument. Spend your evening relaxing at a riverside lodge listening to the gentle flow of the world's longest river.
Day 2 - Transfer to Sipi Falls & Sunset Walk
After breakfast, journey onward through Mbale town and climb the winding roads up the slopes of Mount Elgon to Kapchorwa. Check into your lodge and enjoy a hearty lunch overlooking the ridges. In the late afternoon, embark on a guided community walk to a signature viewpoint to watch a breathtaking golden sunset cast its light across the vast Teso and Karamoja plains below.
Day 3 - The Triple Waterfalls Hike & Arabica Coffee Experience
Lace up your hiking boots for the main event! Spend the morning trekking through local farmlands to visit all three distinct cascades of Sipi Falls (measuring 65m, 85m, and the grand 100m fall). After a well-deserved lunch, join a local family for an authentic coffee tour. You will pick, pulp, roast, and grind your own cup of world-class mountain Arabica coffee using traditional methods.
Day 4 - Optional Adrenaline Activity & Return to Kampal
Spend your morning relaxing to the sound of the falls, or take on an optional, heart-pounding abseiling experience down the 100m cliff. Afterward, bid farewell to the mountains and begin your return journey. Enjoy a lunch stop en route, arriving back in Kampala or Entebbe by the late evening for your departure.

Frequently Asked Questions
The full hike covering all three waterfalls takes about 3 to 4 hours depending on your fitness level. It involves some steep ridges, dirt trails, and local climbing ladders. While it requires a basic level of physical fitness, the pace is leisurely with plenty of breaks. Local walking sticks are provided for extra stability.
Sipi Falls is beautiful all year round! The dry seasons (December to February and June to August) offer the best hiking conditions with dry, firm trails. However, visiting during the rainy seasons means the waterfalls are at their absolute most powerful and dramatic, and the surrounding vegetation turns an incredibly vibrant green.
Good hiking shoes or boots with solid grip are essential, as the trails can get muddy. You should also bring a lightweight raincoat, a warm sweater (altitudes of 1,700m+ make the evenings surprisingly chilly), insect repellent, sunscreen, and a camera to capture the spectacular landscapes.
