Description

Trade the safari vehicle for an aircraft door on this half-day tandem skydive above Kajjansi Airfield, near Kampala. Climb to 10,000–14,000 feet, freefall alongside a certified instructor at speeds over 100 mph, then glide back down under canopy with sweeping views of Lake Victoria and the Ugandan countryside below. No experience is necessary — your instructor handles the technical side entirely, making this an accessible yet extraordinary addition to any Uganda trip.

Frequently Asked Questions About Skydiving

Do I need any skydiving experience?

No. This is a tandem jump, meaning you're securely harnessed to a certified instructor with a minimum of 800 jumps and extensive training. They handle the exit, freefall position, and canopy flight — you simply enjoy the ride.

Is skydiving in Uganda safe?

Tandem skydiving is one of the safer forms of extreme sport when operated by certified professionals with well-maintained equipment, including automatic activation devices (AAD) as a backup safety measure. As with any adventure activity, some inherent risk remains, which is why travel insurance covering skydiving is strongly recommended.

What is the minimum age and weight requirement?

Requirements vary slightly by operator but generally start around 13–18 years of age, with weight limits also applying. We'll confirm the exact requirements for your booking dates when you enquire.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, secure clothing and lace-up footwear that won't come off during the jump. Avoid loose scarves, jewelry, or anything that could interfere with the harness.

Is the activity weather-dependent?

Yes. Skydiving only proceeds in safe weather conditions, and jumps may be rescheduled at short notice if conditions aren't suitable. We recommend building a flexible day into your itinerary around this activity, especially if it's a trip highlight

Can I get photos or video of my jump?

Yes, most operators offer a photo and video package as an optional add-on, capturing your briefing, the jump itself, and your landing. This can be arranged at the time of booking.

Can this be combined with other activities?

Absolutely. Skydiving is easiest to arrange near the start or end of a Uganda itinerary, given its proximity to Kampala and Entebbe. It pairs well with a Jinja adventure day (rafting, bungee jumping) or a Kampala/Entebbe city stopover before or after a national park safari.

Do you offer helicopter skydiving as well?

Yes, a helicopter skydiving option is available at Busiika, Luwero, for travelers wanting an added layer of adventure with a scenic helicopter ascent before the jump. Availability runs on a more limited schedule, so advance booking is recommended.

How far in advance should I book?

A few days to a week's notice is generally sufficient, though booking further ahead is advisable during busy travel periods or if you specifically want the helicopter option at Busiika.
