Travel Itinerary
Day 1 - Kampala/Entebbe to Kibale Forest National Park
Depart in the morning and drive west through the Rift Valley scenery to Kibale Forest, arriving in the afternoon. Check into your lodge and relax ahead of the next day's chimpanzee tracking.
Day 2 - Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Set out early for a guided chimpanzee trek through the forest, tracking a habituated troop and observing their behavior in the wild. In the afternoon, optionally visit the nearby Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary for birdlife and other primates before continuing to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 3 - Queen Elizabeth National Park Game Drive
Enjoy an early morning game drive across the Kasenyi plains in search of lions, elephants, buffalo, and Uganda kob. Spend the afternoon at leisure or take an optional visit to the Ishasha sector for a chance to see tree-climbing lions.
Day 4 - Kazinga Channel Cruise and Transfer to Bwindi
Take a morning launch cruise along the Kazinga Channel to view hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and buffalo along the banks. Afterward, begin the scenic drive south through the Ishasha sector and the Rift Valley escarpment to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, arriving in the evening.
Day 5 - Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Set out early with your ranger guide for a trek through Bwindi's dense rainforest to find a habituated mountain gorilla family. Spend up to an hour observing the gorillas at close range before returning to your lodge to relax in the evening.
Day 6 - Return To Kampala/ Entebbe
After breakfast, begin the drive back to Kampala/Entebbe, arriving in the evening, or connect to onward travel.
