Uganda Safari Bookings is a Uganda-based safari operator under Mumwe Safaris dedicated to helping travelers plan and book unforgettable safaris across the Pearl of Africa. From gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest to game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale, and white-water rafting on the Nile in Jinja, we design and run tours ourselves — not through a marketplace of third parties, but with our own guides, vehicles, and local knowledge on the ground.
Because we’re based right here in Uganda, we don’t just sell safaris — we live them. Our team knows the parks, the seasons, the roads, and the people. Our Story
Mumwe Safaris was founded in 2016 by Mugisha Rogers, a Uganda-born guide with over 12 years of experience leading safaris across East Africa. Mugisha grew up close to the land he now shares with travelers — the forests, savannahs, and rivers that make Uganda one of Africa's most rewarding safari destinations were his backyard long before they became his profession.
His passion for travel started early, guiding friends and family through the parks he knew best, and grew into a deep commitment to showing visitors the Uganda that guidebooks only hint at: the quiet moment before a gorilla family emerges from the undergrowth, the best light for watching lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park, the small lodges and communities that make a trip unforgettable rather than just comfortable.
That passion is what Uganda Safari Bookings was built on — a belief that a safari should be led by people who know the country intimately, not just sell it. Since 2016, Mugisha and the team have carried that same philosophy into every itinerary: honest advice, genuine local knowledge, and a real love for introducing travelers to Uganda for the first time.

December 15, 2021Wonderful Trip – We were booking our Uganda trip from New York and Uganda Safari Bookings made it an extremely easy experience. They looked at what our needs were and were able to advise us. We had a wonderful time with a super experienced guide. We didn’t get to see a cheetah in the wild but saw heaps of leopards, lions, etc. We were also lucky enough to see the rarely seen honey badger and be on the road in the middle of a huge herd of elephants crossing the road. Uganda Safari Bookings gave us the trip of a lifetime and I would heartedly recommend them to anyone wanting a tour.

Our drive and guide is very helpful, he has a good sense of humor, he Knows a lot about animals and was very willing to explain them to us. The cook is very good, he prepared nice food for us. I will recommend any of my friends who want to go safari to choose this agency. Don’t forget to bring a sweater, because it might be cold during the camping.

November 11, 2020 - Excellent customer service – A camping safari is the way to go when visiting Uganda. There is something about being in a tent in the middle of listening to the wildlife at night. If you want to do safari right then camping is the way to go.

November 7, 2020Always friendly – For my first visit to Uganda, I thought camping would be the ultimate experience. As a wildlife photographer Uganda is a must visit for me. It was everything I expected it to be. I had such an amazing time. I arranged everything with Uganda safari bookings agent , he set everything up with ease. As a wildlife photographer this was the perfect trip. Camping in the Serengeti was surreal. We had hyenas, lions, Buffalo and giraffe that came into our campsite. It was as though I was living one of my many wildlife documentaries. Being able to photograph all of wildlife endemic, was a dream come true. My driver and chef were great hosts. Always friendly, asking how my day was and eager to answer questions I had. I will definitely be using them and his services again. I recommended you reach out and book those safaris!

November 6, 2020We are very pleased with our tour operator and recommend her fully – We contacted Phionah for our mountain gorilla trekking adventure in Rwanda and we could not be more pleased with our experience and the service we received. Phionah was very helpful with coordinating the entire trip and very responsive, quickly replying to any and all questions we had. Payment was easy and secure and the driver we were matched with, Nuru, was very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and such a great person to have with us throughout our stay.

July 28, 2019 - 3 Day visit with gorillas – Great service, well run organization and professional guide. Me and my colleague booked a gorilla tour to Volcanoes national park and im very happy we zeroed on Uganda safari booking. Phionah our contact was prompt to reply all our many questions and very informative. The online payment portal is much convenient and easy to pay deposit.
We had an early flight into Kigali, and was met by Rogers, our warm, enthusiastic and friendly guide. Would highly recommend him for your gorilla trek in Rwanda!
We started our tour by going to a local markets less visited by many tourists as we wanted to experience the real market life , which was fascinating. We then we proceeded the powerful Gisozi genocide Museum whose exhibits were thoughtful and torching. A very moving visit and one that should not be skipped.
Our gorilla trek was phenomenal and an experience that should be in everyone’s bucket list
